OK, I’ll admit that I’ve slipped some in my reading. I’ve lately read only one serious hardback book and it is a good one “Let Me Finish” by Chris Christie. In addition, and being a baseball fan all of my life, I read “The Story of Baseball in 100 Photographs”. With my decision to take a break with a few paperback pocket books I’m trying a couple by a new author, for me, Lee Child. His hero is Jack Reacher.

Incidentally, only a few days after buying Chris Christie’s book I was having an early breakfast in a hotel restaurant somewhere out West (I forget where I was) but I was to make a presentation in a conference room there a little later that day when Chris Christie and his wife walked into the same restaurant. At that time there were only four of us there. Resisting my natural behavior I did not walk over to the Christies and introduce myself out of respect for their private time.

The four most visited States in our country are Florida at 31%, New York at 30%, California at 29% and Nevada at 10%.

I am still on my previously announced one man crusade to move us from I term as today’s social and certainly governmental “We vs. They” attitude to an “Us” attitude. I happy and excited to state that according to remarks I’m hearing in my various travels, I’m making some progress. Thanks!

Southwest Airlines lost their founder and friend Herb Kelleher on Jan 3 this year. Herb started Southwest with only three planes and saw it grow to what it is now. Herb meant much to many people. He loved people – all people. He loved Southwest Airlines, he loved his friends and family. He loved life! And he wasn’t afraid to express it. He didn’t meet people with a handshake, it was a bear hug, a boisterous laugh or even a kiss – men, women, friends and strangers alike. One of Herb’s famous sayings was “The business of business is People”.

I’m an animal lover and this is a Prayer for Animals by Dr. Albert Schweitzer: “Hear our humble prayer, O God, for our friends, the animals – especially for animals who are suffering, for any that are hunted or lost or deserted or frightened or hungry; for all that must be put to death.”

Continuing — “We entreat for them all thy mercy and pity, and for all those who must deal with them we ask a heart of compassion and gentle hands and kindly words. Make us, ourselves to be true friends to animals and so to share blessings of the merciful.”

If you have exhausted things to read I have a recommendation. Try the dictionary. “It’s a book about everything.”

I will soon be releasing a new book that remarkably is not about air conditioning and heating!
